Sleep Apnea Education Week is nearly here—and so is your chance to spark awareness, challenge stereotypes, and uplift real stories of people living with sleep apnea.

Launched by Project Sleep in conjunction with Sleep Apnea Education week 2025, our year‑round awareness campaign, Sleep Apnea: Let’s Face It!, showcases the real faces and real stories behind sleep apnea. Whether you’re living with sleep apnea, supporting someone who is, or simply passionate about sleep health, there are so many meaningful ways to get involved.

Sleep Apnea Education Week is an annual campaign (April 18–26) organized by Alliance of Sleep Apnea Partners (ASAP) that brings together individuals, clinicians, advocates, and organizations to build national understanding of sleep apnea as a serious chronic disease. Project Sleep is proud to join the celebration once again.

Below are 6 powerful ways to take action during Sleep Apnea Education Week 2026.

1. Showcase Real Faces of Those Affected by Sleep Apnea

Help shatter outdated stereotypes by joining the Sleep Apnea: Let’s Face It! photo campaign.

  • Download and print the official sign
  • Snap a photo while holding it
  • Share why you’re “all in” for sleep apnea awareness
  • Use #SleepApneaLetsFaceIt and tag @project_sleep

Every photo helps people see that sleep apnea affects people of all ages, backgrounds, and identities—not just the narrow stereotypes many still imagine. Download the campaign sign.

2. Explore Real Stories from the Community

One of the most powerful parts of Sleep Apnea: Let’s Face It! is the storytelling. Meet:

  • Dr. Chris Allen, pediatric neurologist and sleep specialist
  • Kristen Cascio, clinical social worker
  • Chuck & Sandra Watson, a retired couple navigating sleep apnea together
  • Edgar Castro Tello, sustainability professional
  • Geoff Eade, registered sleep technologist
  • Emma Cooksey, patient advocate and host of the Sleep Apnea Squad series

These stories help people recognize symptoms, feel less alone, and understand that treatment can be life‑changing. Discover these stories and share with your community.

3. Wear Your Support Loud and Proud

To celebrate the growing momentum of our Sleep Apnea: Let’s Face It! campaign, we’ve launched brand-new apparel designs to help spread awareness and spark conversations about sleep apnea.

Whether you’re living with sleep apnea, supporting a loved one, or raising awareness in your community, wearing the shirt is a simple but powerful way to start the conversation.

Order shirts for yourself, your family, or your workplace.

4. Share the Facts About Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is estimated to affect more than 80 million U.S. adults, yet 80% remain undiagnosed. Symptoms vary widely and often go unnoticed or dismissed. During Sleep Apnea Education Week, help spread essential facts:

  • Sleep apnea is a serious chronic condition, not just snoring.
  • Symptoms can include gasping, morning headaches, irritability, and daytime sleepiness.
  • Untreated sleep apnea affects long‑term health, safety, and quality of life.
