Rising Voices Speaker Kristyn Beecher Returns to ROCK the Block!

Project Sleep Board Member and Rising Voices speaker Kristyn Beecher raised awareness of sleep health, sleep disorders, and sleep equity at the ROCK the Block Community Health & Resource Expo in Houston, TX, on Saturday, February 21, 2026!

Rock the Block is an event that strives to unite community members, organizations, and stakeholders to address the social determinants of health disproportionately affecting underserved communities, particularly the BIPOC community. The Saturday event centered around outreach to the community, especially children, and featured approximately 40 exhibitors.

Fellow Rising Voices speaker, Jamie Nicole, serves as the Executive Director of The AIP BIPOC Network, the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that hosts ROCK the Block. Jamie invited Kristyn and Project Sleep to return to this great event and again host a table with Project Sleep information and resources.

Last year Kristyn had shared that between both the community members and the other health organizations, no one had ever seen anything sleep-related at a health fair before. “For that reason, we were super popular,” she said. This year, Kristyn expressed the same sentiments and said that she “truly enjoyed speaking with everyone.”

Kristyn was able to let people know about Project Sleep’s Sleep Helpline as a free resource available for anyone with questions or concerns about their sleep. “The Sleep Helpline is such an amazing resource,” said Kristyn. “Everyone was in AWE that something like that existed.”
